Iv'e had an '09 5.7 Hemi Eagle for over a year now. Thats what I was thinking, and they are at both ends. i dont have the heads off the engine but i think it must an oil feed to the shafts The holes are drilled to a head bolt hole. Is that oiling through the rocker shaft like the LA engine. If you look at the heads What are the two holes in the rocker stands.both sides 2nd stand in from end. unless of course you were to run oil lines to the shafts i would want to look at the rockers and how their designed before i bought them. to me it looks like oil thru the pushrod and that oil then fills the rocker shaft to push oil out the other side of the rocker to oil the springs which then got me thinking about how will the harland sharpe rockers work with needle bearings and even more so with anĪdjustable rocker arm. The next thing is, i was trying to study the rocker gear oiling system today. does someone else make a flex plate for smaller vert with the larger 7/16ths bolt holes I know in an all out motor trying to get every last ounce of hp you could justify it but how much is there to gain using roller adjustables in a hydraulicġst, i was looking at the flexplate conversion on mancinis website and it appears to me that it will only accept a larger style converter with the small 5/16ths converter bolts. I think theirs is non adjustable.Īt 3200 or 1800 a set I rather sink my $$$ into a rotating assembly. Yeah I know about the Harland Sharp rockets and there is another one by HHP. Harland Sharp will have some adjustable roller rockers out soon for around $1800.Still not cheap, but at least it's another choice if you want to run a solid lifter roller cam. Yeah but at 3200.00 how much of a gain do you get with a hydraulic cam? They're plenty strong for a street/strip deal.Īs for the Jesel stuff, if you can swing it, why not use it? It's top shelf. I've talked to enuff people & asked enuff questions about them.
Drag racer v3 hacked mills eagles mod#
I'm partial to the Drag Pack intake, but Indy's Mod manifold or Edelbrock's two-four manifold would be neat. I'm using a Turbo 400 trans, so I have an Ultrabell & am using the standard run of the mill Mopar light weight starter. The #1 exhaust port was the only tube I had to work around the steering box, as I lowered & moved the motor back. in the future & will use the FAST XFI unit.įactory steering Box & drag link etc.it all fits fine. I went with FAST planning on going to F.I. I have the FAST stand alone ignition controller.so far so good. I figured they may be a little big now for the stock cubes, but will be fine when motor is larger. I just went with straight 2" primaries to 3 1/2" collectors. I suppose the cast intake is the only real choice.i was thinking 2-4's.fwiw. Is the current magnum mini starter the same for these motors?Īlso anyone want to exapand on the XV ignition? How hard is it to fit in with factory steering column and factory box? Steff yours look nice.i couldnt tell if you had a factory steering box or rack? i see the factory drag link.so.

What is the consensus on header primary I/D and length. Re: 3rd gen HEMI swap for drag icks for power. I hope so, IF NOT there will be an even bigger gap in the aftermarket. The block is the same except for the cam. I THINK, not sure, that your statement is correct. Sans a new cam and some valve train hardware? If i have a 08 or older block (non VVT) will all of my internals from the 09 motor fit the block It's much easier to get a 2008 or earlier 5.7, or a 6.1, and start with that instead. The old style cam would fall right through the hole in the block.and as said the drive is different also. It's not easy to delete the vvt from a 2009-up 5.7 shortblock because the front cam journal is huge, much bigger than the old style cam.

'09-up 5.7 has basically no aftermarket cam support at all, unless you include the welded up, reground stock cams that are floating around out there.

'08-down 5.7 has near unlimited aftermarket cam support.
